From the beginning of the project a decision was made that the main focus of A1's music would be on descriptive, meaningful stories that would be easy to relate and even easier to hear if written in the right way. A1 started became interested with music at a fairly young age, and starting at the age of 12, started to write his own rap verses. Starting in 1995 he began to listen to very old school recordings of Jamaican Reggae and what was then called Spanish Reggae (which took the Jamaican beats and literally traduced the lyrics into spanish).
