Where were you born and raised?I was born in Ohio and lived there a few months and then moved to Alabama. We then moved back to Ohio 5 yrs later and then moved to Fl 7 or so yrs after that. So I've been in South FL since my freshman yr of high school. We moved here (and everywhere else) b/c of my father's job. He is a minister and took a church in Pompano Beach. By now, FL is definitely home.When did you realize you could sing?I can't remember not singing. My mother is constantly singing, along with my sister. Everyone in my family is musical so singing was like learning to walk. I do remember though my first public performance in church when I was five definitely left an impression on me. I wanted to do that all the time.Do you have any formal singing training?I never took lessons until I was 19. I majored in Studio Music and Jazz Vocal Performance at the University of Miami. So my formal training there was extensive.Other talents:Which song do you most enjoy singing and why?It might sound trite, but I love singing "Amazing Grace". One of my favorite jazz standards to sing is "Close Your Eyes".If you couldn't make a career out of music, what other path would you take?I won't give myself any other choice but to make my career music. Music is my life and such a great part of who I am, there is no separating myself at this point. Whenever I reach the point when I am no longer a full time performer, I will continue writing and producing, but always creating.
