Gritty, innovative tongue-ties, intertwined with heartfelt lyrics are all words used to describe the lyrical styling of Gordo Brega. Hailing from Bronx, New York, Gordo whole heartily embraces his Dominican heritage and prepares to introduce the world to his version of Spanglish Hip-Hop, an emergent musical genre. “Our music is deep-rooted Hip-Hop with a distinct flava from a Dominican perspective,” says Gordo. “It’s captivating and different.”

In 2003 Gordo Brega hit the streets with “LE Double NY & Gordo” (Da Mixtape Vol.1), which featured the title track “LE Double NY & Gordo” and “Dominicano Soy.” The 2005 mixtape release of “A Lo Fuke,” showcased Gordo’s ability to produce top-notch lyrics not only in English but also fluently in Spanish.

Both releases are sure to please hip-hop fans of diverse cultural backgrounds worldwide.

Gordo discovered a passion for rap music at the age of 17 after hearing a mix tape featuring Big Pun, another successful rapper of Hispanic heritage. He was inspired and intensely began to nurture his gift for rhyming over the hottest beats and tracks. In 2001 while attending Howard University as business major, Gordo began working with Gangsta Chronicals Entertainment. In 2003 he parted ways with Gangsta Chronicles Entertainment and connected with Lenny “LE Double NY” Levergne and Kwabena “99 Grams” Nkrumah. Together the trio formed Determined To Takeover (DTO) Records. “With us you get the best of worlds,” says Gordo, “street and school.”

Destined for success, Gordo’s persistence and talent have allowed him the opportunity to work with award winning DJ’s and perform in front of large audiences as the opening act for well-known artists such as Pitbull and platinum selling artist Lil Wayne.

“He’s creatively diverse in style and delivery of content, “says manager “Rashee” K.
