NICO STAI
Former frontman for the now defunct Los Angeles based bands The Bonnie Stai and Tinpaco (London Records/Warners UK, their 7 days e.p. was a FILTER MAGAZINE PICK OF THE WEEK).
He first started performing solo in between band projects. Appearing in local clubs like The Echo, Spaceland, Silverlake Lounge, and Hotel Cafe, his intensely raw and emotionally charged performances quickly sparked the rise of a fast growing following in the Los Angeles area.
Word of mouth spread and due to demand , some 8-track home recordings were put together and released under the name: THE VIVA DEAD E.P.
The E.P. immediately started to sell out both online and at shows and started garnering radio play in Japan's Yellowbeat FM, L.A's very own Indie 103.1 F.M. Paradise Radio ,Insomnia radio and LittleRadio.com.
In early October 2006, PARK LOS ANGELES , his first full length, was released under his own label Dead Pony Records, again, selling out online and getting more radio play, leading...

Nico Stai performed at this years Noise Pop festival in San francisco, sharing the stage with Dios Malos and Jonah Matranga and also performed two showcases at SXSW music convention in Austin, Texas, as well as a stint of East Coast shows in New York City in the springtime.
In June NICO STAI was voted by listeners at OURSTAGE.COM and consequently hand picked to go perform at THE BONNAROO FESTIVAL this past summer in TENNESSEE.
Following a headlining show at The troubadour , he recently opened up for Wolf Parade's frontman's side project Handsome Furs in Los Angeles and the up and coming Air Traffic from the U.K.
Having been picked by CLUB MONACO as artist of the month , his following and fan base have been growing both locally and internationally thanks in part to word of mouth , magazine reviews, radio play and songs of his that have been appearing in movie soundtracks...and he is currently working on and recording his 2nd upcoming full length.
His music, often described as haunting and stirring, has been likened to everything from early Springsteen and
Leonard Cohen, to Radiohead and Bright Eyes.
